Reconstructive Surgery
Reduction of Lower Jaw or angle of mandible to transform a round or angular face to a more oval shaped aesthetically pleasing face is a common procedure, particularly among Asians. Cheek augmentation and reduction, chin augmentation and reduction, and augmentation of a sunken temple area are all very common reconstructive procedures to improve the aesthetic appeal of the face. Which surgeries may be qualified for OHIP coverage?
Reconstructive surgical procedures such as otoplasties [correction of protruding ears], cleft lip and palate, inborn defects, etc., are also available. These surgeries may also qualify for OHIP coverage.
